How it works

The process is the guarantee

MATCHA secures assignments and exams through process transparency, lock-down features, and scaffolding.

  • Users cannot use copy-paste, auto-typers, or computer-controlling agents to inject content within its editor.
  • MATCHA records all work done, from reading in its built-in browser to note-taking and editing in its editor.
  • The entire work-process is transparent to the instructor.
  • For added safety in the case of home assignments, students can take an AI-facilitated follow-up quiz, which doubles as a pedagogical tool to deepen reflection.

Security and privacy

MATCHA is so safe, you don't have to trust it.

Our configurable privacy levels allow you to control exactly how much personal information is shared with whom, enterprise-wide. And if you don't want to trust us, you don't have to. MATCHA's Zero Trust mode keeps all personal information off the cloud and all PII off the app. We also offer flexible data residency options for the data that we store.

Accessibility

Built for accessible deployment

MATCHA is WCAG 2.1 AA compliant and ships with keyboard access, app zoom, predictable focus movement, and a screen reader friendly interface. We publish accessibility documentation and a current VPAT so institutional review teams can evaluate MATCHA before rollout.

What we leave behind

There's one thing we don't do: camera-based proctoring.

We've seen how easily defeated it is by off-the-shelf tools . When instructors look at the videos, they find more cheating than they can investigate. The system is ineffective, unfair to honest students, and unpleasant to all participants.

Institutional savings

MATCHA saves you big

MATCHA was designed to prevent AI misuse, but it also stops traditional plagiarism. This means you no longer need to spend on plagiarism detection. Since it's also a locked browser, MATCHA can save you big by replacing three or more costly tools.

MATCHA institutional licenses are usually available for a fraction of the cost of Turnitin + AI Detection + LockedDown Browser (without video monitoring). Your savings will depend on your particular contracts and deployment needs. This illustration is not a quote or guarantee.

Try it out

Run a pilot before you roll it out

Start with one course, one assessment type, or one writing center workflow. We can help your team configure privacy levels, activity settings, and review workflows before a broader deployment.

1 Pick a course or lab

Choose a real workflow where authorship evidence would make review easier.

2 Set the privacy level

Test local-first, cloud submission, or Zero Trust settings with your stakeholders.

3 Review the evidence

Let instructors see reading, writing, and submission history in context.
